Danish tech startup, ViewWorld ApS was founded in September 2010 by, among others, Christian Friis Bach. The company has developed a smartphone application that helps to ensure that users of smartphones deployed by NGOs and other organisations can speedily, credibly and efficiently communicate and report their findings in the field. ViewWorld provides workflow-based handling of the reported information on report and templates hosted by ViewWorld and delivered to its customers.
Among ViewWorld’s customers are the Danish Red Cross, Care Denmark, International Media Support, Rockwool Fonden and Danish Church Aid.
On 14 December 2011, a group of new investors, among these Development Invest ApS (Thomas Augustinus and others), Tana Copenhagen (Erik Bryld and Finn Skadkær Pedersen), Niels Dabelstein and existing investors, among these Junge & Co (David Junge) agreed to provide further funding for ViewWorld to develop and grow its services and products. The new investors who all have extensive expertise and network within the area that ViewWorld works in, will actively participate on ViewWorld’s board.
As part of his appointment as Minister for Development Cooperation, the founder and CEO Christian Friis Bach has stepped down from all positions in ViewWorld and is now no longer a shareholder. As interim CEO, Rune Bech Persson has taken the position as interim CEO until a new CEO has been appointed.
(Disclosure: I am an early seed investor of ViewWorld ApS, chairman of the board and Bender von Haller Dragsted provides legal services to the company).
