Mario Coppola at Villa Rufolo

Lousy photo from a good recital by Italian pianist Mario Coppola – whom I never had heard about before – at the Villa Rufolo in Ravello.

Wonderful program with piano music by Beethoven, Liszt and Schumann.

I attended that concert too, and the Nocturne Polanaise was splendid. Funny to see a photo of a concert I attended.

I attended a wonderful concert by this pianist at Villa Rufolo on 16th May 2007 and it was a wonderful experience. The music was Schumann/liszt/Debussy and Chopin. I was a tour guide and took several members of my group and the evening was enjoyed by all. It was a special time for me given that I had not previously visited this most beautiful place. The Liszt piece was the Vallee d’Obermann (Suisse) and memorable it was. Very moving was his interpretation of his only encore which was the Chopin Prelude in e minor.

If anybody attended this concert, I would very much like their thoughts, and of course, if anybody is in touch with this wonderful pianist, I would like them to convey my thanks for a very moving evening. I went back to see him after the concert, but was too moved to say anything other than thank you.
