I am a great fan of the late piano virtuoso Glenn Gould. For someone who lives a rather mediocre life like myself, uncompromising lifes of such geniuses as Glenn Gould are fascinating. Searching for materials on Glenn Gould at Amazon.com I discovered a novel “The Loser” by Austrian writer Thomas Bernhard whom I had never heard about before.

Having just finished The Loser I recommend it. I don’t no why actually. But I enjoyed the prose (approx. 200 pages in one chapter without any paragraphs!). And it gives an interesting look into the brains of self-interested, ego-centric but not necessarily genius minds.
