The smaller Rune Stone

During Vilhelms, Jeannes and my holiday this August in Jutland we visited Jelling Kirke where you will find some of the oldest stones in Denmark with carved Rune inscriptions. The stones were erected some thousands years by Harald Blaatand (Bluetooth). Harald Blaatand was the first christian Danish king but is from a more neerdish perspective better known as having given name to the Bluetooth standard for wireless communication.

There are two Rune stones outside Jelling church. To us however, the smaller one (in the picture above) erected by King Gorm den Gamle (the Old) is more interesting of the two. We have at home in the courtyard of Admiral Gjeddes Gaard a replicate en miniature of it.
